Built
in 1925 as a Buick sales and service center, the Eldridge is now
the office and retail hub of Carnegie Square, located at the intersection
of First Avenue and Cedar Street. A spiral ramp provides auto access
to each floor and the roof top parking. After purchasing the building
in 1992, Wells and Company renovated the handsome exterior façade
and revitalized the office space and the retail storefronts. This
44,000 square foot building is listed on the National Register of
Historic Places, and has been home to Wells and Company since 1994.
The retail storefronts include Spokane Tile and Design, Shabby Sisters,
Merry Go Round, and Rocket Bakery.
Carnegie Square
has become an integral portal to the core of downtown Spokane, creating
a neighborly atmosphere within walking distance to dining, shopping,
and entertainment.
