Since the beginning, Wells and Company has been focused primarily on historic renovation projects that add to revitalization of downtown areas. In Spokane, Wells and Company has been renovating historic apartment buildings in and near downtown since 1983. We believe that people must live in Downtown Spokane in order for it to be a truly vibrant place. That is the reason we have been, since 1997, developing projects for condominiums and lofts in and near Downtown Spokane.

Our first condominium project was The Riverside Court Townhouses on West Riverside, 1209 through 1225 West Riverside Avenue. Built in two phases, completed in 1997 and 2000, the units were sold some time ago, but we remain extremely proud of the project, both for its appearance and for the fact that it proved there was a market in Spokane for downtown condominiums.

Subsequently, we developed the Freeman Center, the former Display House, on the northwest corner of Lincoln and 2nd Avenue, is a mixed-use condominium with retail and office space, as well as residential. Freeman Center sold out in December, 2005.

Wells and Company subsequently developed the following projects in Downtown Spokane:

The Lofts at the Morgan Building, 315 W. Riverside Avenue. A loft-style condominium conversion in the historic six-story Morgan Building, featuring residential loft-style condominiums on the upper floors and work or live/work units on the lower floors. There are 28 lofts ranging in size from 660 square feet to 2030 square feet. Each unit has parking in the adjacent garage. Prices started in the low $300,000's. Started in 2005, and sold out in 2008, this is by far downtown Spokane's nicest and best-located condo project to date in this price range.

West 809 Lofts, 809 W. Main. In the upper two floors of a building located in the heart of the Central Business District downtown, directly across Main from Nordstrom and River Park Square. This dramatic renovation has all the luxury amenities in 60,000 square feet of new residential use, and includes 21 new lofts with ceilings of 17 feet to almost 20 feet. Major national retail tenants on the 1st floor, including P.F. Chang's China Bistro and Jos. A. Banks, add to the excitement of living in the heart of downtown. OZ Fitness occupies, state-of-the-art 20,000 sq.ft. fitness center, right on the skywalk. Basement garage parking is located on site, and each loft has 2 car parks. This is Spokane's very finest condominium/loft, in the most superb location. Pricing for "shell" units starts in the $400,000's. Wells and Company served as architect and general contractor for the residential portion of this mixed-use project. There are still shell units for sale as of Fall 2011.

Available August, 2011:

Carnegie Square Townhouses are located on Adams Street between Sprague and 1st Avenue - in the west end of downtown. This is a departure from our previous loft and condominium developments. Carnegie Square Townhouses will be 8 individual townhouse lots - 4 fronting on 1st Avenue and 4 fronting on Sprague Avenue - sharing a common driveway to allow access to the back of each lot. Lot purchasers will work with their own builders to construct their own concept of ideal downtown living in 3 stories. Conceptual renderings and suggested floor plans are available. Leave the suburbs to others and make a home for yourself downtown!
