Steam
Plant Square is Spokane's most unique retail/office space. Two historic
buildings, the Central Steam Plant and the Seehorn Building, are both
listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Combined through
a central courtyard building, they offer 74,400 square feet of retail/commercial
space. Steam Plant Square is centrally located in Spokane, Washington.
The Seehorn Building,
built in 1890, was originally used as a warehouse by Burlington Northern
Railroad. Today, with over 19,600 square feet of office and retail
space averaging from 500 to 6,500 square feet, the Seehorn serves
as the gateway to Steam Plant Square. Easily accessible from I-90,
the Seehorn faces busy Lincoln Street offering maximum exposure to
your shop or office.
Built in 1916,
Washington Water Power's Central Steam Plant functioned as the principal
downtown steam heating source for more than 70 years. With its hand-laid,
patterned brick smokestacks, massive boilers and bunkers, the Central
Steam Plant has been creatively converted into 34,400 square feet
of commercial space. The Steam Plant's Coal Bunker has approximately
2,000 square feet of usable office space
and what a space!
Suspended from the fifty-foot-high-ceiling, the Coal Bunker is quite
a delight for the daring! Not only is the bunker a unique office
space, one of the twin 225 ft. tall smokestacks has been converted
into a conference room! Talk about bold!
The Courtyard is a new, unique structure that architecturally links
the Central Steam Plant and the Seehorn Building. The Courtyard
houses 10,000 square feet of Class A office space. Two floors of
parking are directly below.
